There are people who bake. And then there are
people who really bake. The ones who make their own bread when the
supermarket is two minutes away. Who turn up to birthdays with a cake
that’s taller than the birthday boy. Or who shudder at the thought of a
shop bought short crust. If that sounds like you, we’d like a word.
We’re searching for the next batch of brilliant home bakers, ready to
swap their kitchen counter for the famous white tent. Maybe, just maybe,
the next Star Baker could be you.

Editorial Notes: Attention all home bakers! Applications are now open
for the next series of The Great British Bake Off, and we’re looking for
talented people from across the UK to take on the challenge of the tent.
Who can apply? Applications are open to all UK residents, including the
Isle of Man and Channel Islands. You must be aged 16 or over by 1st
January 2027. Full details, including entry rules and terms, are

What are we looking for?
A genuine passion for baking is essential. From bread and biscuits to
pastry, cakes and plenty more, Bake Off celebrates all kinds of home
baking, so we want to hear from people who enjoy getting stuck into a
range of bakes. Bring us your personality.
Tell us about your baking
journey. Show us the bakes you’re proudest of and the recipes that mean
something to you. You don’t need to be perfect, nobody is. What matters
is having the enthusiasm to keep learning, developing your skills, and
taking on new challenges.
Most importantly, we want to see you, the
baker behind the bakes. (Any material you submit as part of your
application must be genuine, accurate and your own original work).

• Show us what you can do. Include photographs of
your bakes so we can see the range of things you make.
• Let your come through. We love seeing your videos. Have fun with it.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to tell us a little more about yourself and
bring your application to life.
