Disabled young people are invited to apply now for an annual IT competition

Could you be the next Tim Berners-Lee or Steve Jobs? Disabled young people are invited to apply now for an annual IT competition designed to test ability, creativity and skill.

The UK IT Challenge is an annual competition for disabled young people hosted by Shaw Trust, a charity helping to transform the lives of young people and adults across the UK and internationally, and supported by BT.

Taking place from Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 July at BT’s Adastral Park, Ipswich, 50 disabled young people aged between 13-24 years old from across the UK will come together to compete on a number of different IT challenges designed to test ability, creativity and skill.

Healthcare team raises more than £1,000 for mental health charity

The head office team that supports one of the UK’s leading health and social care providers has raised more than £1,000 for a local charity, after completing a series of fundraising events throughout 2018.

The team at Shaw healthcare’s headquarters in St Mellons, near Cardiff, set out to raise money for mental health charity Cardiff Mind, organising fundraising events like dress-down days and themed raffles throughout the year. Shaw healthcare runs more than 63 care homes and day care facilities across the UK, including specialist services for residents and service users living with dementia and other mental health illnesses.
