New guide Welcoming Disabled Customers published 

A new and updated guide on meeting the needs of disabled customers and clients is being launched on the 7th March at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort.

Welcoming Disabled Customers has been developed by Business Disability Forum, a not-for-profit membership organisation, in collaboration with businesses, disability organisations and people with conditions covered in the guide, and with support from Merlin Entertainments plc.

With 1 in 5 customers or clients estimated to have a disability or long-term condition, the guide offers advice to businesses on how to ensure all customers receive the very best level of customer service.

A wide range of top accessible attractions throughout the UK feature in the inspiring new guide to encourage people with diverse needs to enjoy a family day out during the holidays.

The revamped The Rough Guide to Accessible Britain, now in its 10th year, offers reviews and details of ramps, accessible toilets, and parking spaces for visitors with more hidden conditions such as autism and mental illness. The guide includes reviews of over 180 venues, including great outdoor escapes such as:

Caldecotte Xperience in Milton Keynes has launched a wheelchair-accessible Wheelyboat: the first fully accessible power boat to operate at this outdoor activity centre, strengthening existing provisions for people with disabilities. 

Two charities, The Wheelyboat Trust and Action4Youth, workied together on the project, to provide young people with mobility impairments with the ability to participate fully in water-based activities at this centre.
