Eikon Exhibition Centre hosts extensive display of vehicles for disabled people
Disabled motorists and their families can explore their motoring options and find out about the Motability Scheme at The Big Event in Northern Ireland this June. Showcasing the largest display of vehicles for disabled people in Northern Ireland, The Big Event is coming to the Eikon Exhibition Centre in Lisburn on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 June 2016 following a successful previous event in Belfast in 2014.
For the first time ever, visitors to The Big Event in Northern Ireland can test drive a range of vehicles fitted with the most popular driving adaptations available on the Motability Scheme. The adapted test drives take place with a professional driving instructor and are available to book on the day, all visitors need to do is bring their driving licence.
The Big Event will showcase more than 50 cars from 18 leading manufacturers including Vauxhall, Ford, Nissan and Peugeot. In addition, over 20 scooters and powered wheelchairs will be on display as well as a wide range of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles and products from adaptation suppliers. Visitors can also get advice from Motability Scheme advisors and gather useful information from Scheme partners – Kwik Fit, RAC and RSA Motability – as well as advice from The Forum of Mobility Centres and Disabled Motoring UK.
Free to attend and with free parking for all visitors, The Big Event in Northern Ireland is fun for all the family with face painting, balloon modellers and the chance to meet the Motability Scheme mascot, Billy the Bear! Plus, everyone is treated to a free cup of tea or coffee when they arrive.
The Big Event will be held alongside Northern Ireland’s largest Disability Exhibition hosted by Disability Action. With two great events taking place at the same time, guests will have even more opportunity to discover the latest products and services available for disabled people, including transport aids and equipment, sports activities, technology and much more.
