German National Tourist Office Returns to NAIDEX for 2016 with New Partners

London, 1st March 2016 - the German National Tourist Office for UK and Ireland (GNTO) is returning to Naidex this year – the only national tourist office to appear at the UK’s leading accessible lifestyle show.  The GNTO, which can be found on stand L11, will once more be partnered by accessible travel specialists Runa Reisen and new for 2016,   Germany’s biggest barrier-free hotel, Haus Rheinsberg, a superior 4 star hotel located in the beautiful surroundings of the Brandenburg lake district.

Visitors will be able to research and even book holidays at Naidex, on the GNTO stand.  In addition, the GNTO’s accessible travel website  has two new destination partners: the state of Lower Saxony and Thuringia, which offer holiday opportunities for anyone interested in nature, culture, good food and a warm local welcome.

Visitors can also enter a free competition on stand - with the chance to win a holiday  to Germany courtesy of the GNTO and Haus Rheinsberg.

The GNTO launched its ‘BarrierFree’ (accessible) travel website and multi-media campaign in 2012 and since then, it has gone from strength to strength.  Visitor numbers to the website increased by 14% in 2015 compared to the previous year, reflecting the increasing interest in Germany by visitors from the UK and Ireland.

For the period January-November 2015, there was an increase of 7.6% in overnight stays from the UK and an increase of 13.9% by visitors from Ireland.  Overall, Germany has just recorded its sixth, record breaking increase for incoming tourism, in a row.

Klaus Lohmann, director of the GNTO UK and Ireland commented: “we are really looking forward to being at Naidex again and having the opportunity to talk to people on a one-to-one basis.  Germany offers so many possibilities for a holiday – from active, sporty trips to get-away-from-it-all breaks, whether you want a nature break in quaint, rural regions or an exciting citybreak.

Whatever your interest, we think we’ll be able to inspire you to visit Germany, so please come and see us at Naidex!”.
