Autism With Attitude win second place at UDO European Street Dance Championships

Autism With Attitude street dance group from Hillingdon Manor School, Uxbridge have changed perceptions of young people with autism by competing in the European United Dance Organisations (UDO) Championships in Germany last weekend – and winning second place in the final! Part of Outcomes First Group, Hillingdon Manor provides specialist education and support to pupils aged three to nineteen years old with autism.

The street dance troupe faced top level competition in their category from 15 other teams from across Europe – including the current Dutch and French champions, who finished in first and third place respectively. No other group had special needs.

Autism with Attitude a street dance group from Hillingdon Manor School, are making a step this Autism Dance Day and made history last July when they qualified as the first special needs dance team to make it through to the finals of the United Dance Organisations (UDO) Championships - are preparing to head off to compete in the next stage of the competition, the European Championships in Kalkar, Germany, Friday 11 May 2018 to Sunday 13 May 2018.

Hip hop dance stars turn out to help Hillingdon Manor School raise money to send Autism with Attitude street dance group to European Championships

 

Boy Blue Entertainment, UMA, Definitive, IMD, Unity and all girl trio Code 3 are among the big names in hip hop who have signed up to appear at a benefit night at the Broadway Theatre in East London on January 20th 2018 to raise money to send street dance group Autism with Attitude, a group of 12 to 15 young people with autism, from Hillingdon Manor School, Uxbridge to the United Dance Organisations (UDO) European Championships in Kalkar in Germany in May 2018.
