The GNTO launched its ‘BarrierFree’ (accessible) travel website and multi-media campaign in 2012 and since then, it has gone from strength to strength.  Visitor numbers to the website increased by 14% in 2015 compared to the previous year, reflecting the increasing interest in Germany by visitors from the UK and Ireland.

For the period January-November 2015, there was an increase of 7.6% in overnight stays from the UK and an increase of 13.9% by visitors from Ireland.  Overall, Germany has just recorded its sixth, record breaking increase for incoming tourism, in a row.

Klaus Lohmann, director of the GNTO UK and Ireland commented: “we are really looking forward to being at Naidex again and having the opportunity to talk to people on a one-to-one basis.  Germany offers so many possibilities for a holiday – from active, sporty trips to get-away-from-it-all breaks, whether you want a nature break in quaint, rural regions or an exciting citybreak.

Whatever your interest, we think we’ll be able to inspire you to visit Germany, so please come and see us at Naidex!”.
